I was asked to play four Holiday performances in Reston, VA, during the holidays and decided to play many well known songs, and then write my own.

Lyrics

“This Morning It’s Christmas”
By: Rick Landers © 2019

You say you like your coffee hot
I love a drizzlin' rain
Wake up…it’s five o’clock
We’ll watch the circling train

Children nestled with sugar plums in their heads
Jingle jangle of reindeer overhead
That’s how we know
This morning it’s Christmas
That’s how we know
This morning it’s Christmas

We’ll make snow angels in the snow
We’ll laugh ‘til we cry
And I’ll kiss you beneath the mistletoe
We’ll sing "Auld Lang Syne"

Children nestled with sugar plums in their heads
Jingle jangle of reindeer overhead
That’s how we know
This morning it’s Christmas
That’s how we know
This morning it’s Christmas

Watch the snow fall
All around the trees
We’ll put our boots on
Snow’s up to our knees
Carolers singing songs of
Joy and Peace

That’s how we know
That’s how we know

We’ll make snow angels in the snow
We’ll laugh ‘til we cry
And I’ll kiss you beneath the mistletoe
We’ll sing "Auld Lang Syne"

Children nestled with sugar plums in their heads
Jingle jangle Rudolph’s overhead
That’s how we know
This morning it’s Christmas
That’s how we know
This morning it’s Christmas
That’s how we know
That’s how we know
That’s how we know
