A father leaves and his daughter later works as a dispatcher for a 911 emergency center.....they reconnect when he calls 911. This quaint jazz number wrote itself and it dribbled out of my pen, and came into its own with some slight polishing to fit the right words into the music. The story behind the song is up to listeners to imagineer...Rick (vocals/guitar); Tim Spong (bass); Jim Nagle (dobro); Ron Goad (percussion)

Lyrics

Little Girl (The 911 Song)
By: Rick Landers © 2020
Capo on 4th fret.

See that little girl
She’s beginning to wake
The weight of the world
It’s not easy to shake

She squeezes herself so tight
She’s beginning to break

See that little girl
See that little girl

The world the little girl knew
It’s beginning to fall
She keeps it together
The best that she can

She answers the call as
911 rings off the wall

See that little girl
See that little girl

Her daddy told her
She was the strong one
He walked out the door
He’s been gone so very long
See that little girl

(Instrumental break)

The world the little girl knew
It's too early, too late
She feels she’s getting stronger
Giving more than she takes

She answers the call
Not a moment to late

Is that my little girl?
Is that my little girl?
Is that my little girl?
Sweetest girl in the world…
